Boron Carbide F36, F46, F320 for Diamond Grinding Wheel Additives

Boron carbide (B₄C) F36, F46 and F320 grades are specially engineered functional raw materials designed as key additives for manufacturing resin, metal and vitrified bonded diamond grinding wheels. Known as one of the third hardest man-made materials, boron carbide delivers outstanding hardness, wear resistance and stable chemical performance, making it an ideal auxiliary abrasive filler for diamond wheel formulations.

Diamond abrasives feature ultra-high hardness, yet they face limitations in self-sharpening performance and machining adaptability when used alone. Appropriately graded boron carbide powder works as a critical complementary component inside the grinding wheel matrix. Coarse grades F36 and F46 possess sharp particle edges and strong cutting capacity. When blended into diamond wheel raw materials, they assist in micro-cutting during grinding, improve the wheel’s cutting efficiency, reduce grinding resistance and lower surface burn risk on workpieces. Fine grade F320 boron carbide optimizes the structure of the wheel binder, fills tiny voids inside the matrix, enhances the compactness and overall structural strength of the grinding wheel.

Our boron carbide strictly follows standard F-size grain distribution. Each grade maintains centralized particle size, low impurity content and good flowability, which ensures homogeneous mixing with diamond powder, metal powder and resin binders. Unlike ordinary abrasives, boron carbide boasts excellent inertia. It will not react with most bonding systems during hot pressing and sintering processes, helping the grinding wheel maintain stable performance under continuous high-load grinding conditions.
Adding boron carbide F36, F46 and F320 brings multiple tangible benefits to diamond grinding wheels. It effectively balances the hardness and toughness of the wheel, improves self-sharpening property, prevents premature passivation of diamond grains, and extends the service life of finished wheels. Finished diamond wheels with boron carbide additives perform excellently for processing hard alloys, ceramics, optical glass and semiconductor materials.

We provide consistent quality and customizable packaging for bulk export. Whether for mass production of precision grinding wheels or customized abrasive tool development, our graded boron carbide serves as a reliable additive solution for global diamond abrasive manufacturers.
